The Journey That Lasts Forever

It's been 25.5 hours since we left home and we're sitting in Frankfurt airport, waiting for our delayed flight to Marseille. Quite a long journey but we're almost there.

Our first leg was United from SFO-JFK, and we were split up on two different flights. We had decided to all go early and I would try to go standby on the earlier flight. Well Mei and I got the last 2 seats on the plane after a party of 7 didn't show up (even though they had checked in). Of course, the flight was delayed by an hour. Because of all our long layovers, we took all the delays in stride (this was to be a pattern repeated on all our flights today). We got to JFK and hung out in the lounge for a couple of hours.

The Singapore Airlines flight was late, super late - we were held on the runway for over 2 hours due to storms and congestion. Still, if you had to be delayed on the tarmac, sitting in Singapore's business class is pretty much the way to go.

The girls were spoiled by the flight attendants and showered with various goodies. They watched Shrek and played Nintendo games - the flight went great. Amara told me that it was the "best meal on an airplane that she's ever had!"

We're now in Frankfurt, with another long layover. They had a wonderful tomato soup in the Lufthansa lounge though, so that what we had for lunch or dinner or whichever meal of the day it was. Our flight to Marseille is merely 30 mins late though - which is nothing based upon our other flights today!
